My Process
Pine + Wool Home pillow covers are individually designed and handmade in my dog-friendly, non-smoking studio located in Ridgefield, WA, USA.
I specialize in working with natural fibers such as wool, linen, cotton, and leather, always opting for the finest materials available. A significant portion of my fabrics are sourced from Pendleton® Woolen Mills, a reputable family-owned business that has operated in the USA since the early 1900s. I appreciate Pendleton's rich heritage and dedication to supporting Native American craftsmanship. My admiration for Native American artistry began during my teenage years in Arizona, where I explored shops in old town Scottsdale, admiring their baskets, jewelry, and rugs. Even today, I still treasure some turquoise jewelry I acquired as a young adult. Upon moving to the Pacific Northwest, I was captivated by the southwest-style fabrics and blankets crafted by Pendleton Woolen Mills. It felt like a natural choice for me to incorporate fabrics that evoke my fond memories of the Southwest.
Operating in small batches often results in unique, one-of-a-kind products that set them apart from what others have in their homes or collections
When I first learned to sew, I utilized my grandmother's Singer 1957 sewing machine. Initially, I kickstarted my business with this precious machine, but I have now retired it with the intention of passing it down to my granddaughter. The presence of this machine in my studio creates a connection to my grandmother, making her a part of my small business journey.
Warm regards,
Theresa
